Why this happens
Cod liver oil contains omega-3 fatty acids, which have a mild blood-thinning effect. Ginseng (particularly Panax ginseng) can also interfere with how blood cells (platelets) stick together. When used together, these effects can add up, increasing the overall blood-thinning effect.
What you should do

If you notice unusual bruising, frequent nosebleeds, or bleeding gums when brushing your teeth, stop taking them and speak to your GP. You should stop taking both supplements at least two weeks before any planned surgery or dental work. If you are already taking prescription blood thinners (like warfarin or aspirin), do not take this combination without consulting your doctor first.
