There is no known direct interaction between iron supplements and Prozac (fluoxetine). However, both substances can occasionally cause stomach-related side effects like nausea or indigestion.

Why this happens
Iron supplements and fluoxetine are processed by the body through different pathways. Iron is absorbed in the digestive tract, while fluoxetine is metabolised primarily by the liver. They do not interfere with each other's absorption or effectiveness.
What you should do
Back to contentsYou can safely take these together. To minimise potential stomach upset, you may wish to take your iron supplement with food (unless your doctor has told you to take it on an empty stomach for better absorption) and take your Prozac at a different time of day. If you experience significant nausea or constipation, speak with your pharmacist.

Taking amlodipine and Nustendi (ezetimibe) together can increase the amount of one of the ingredients in Nustendi (bempedoic acid) in your bloodstream. This may increase the risk of side effects from Nustendi, such as high levels of uric acid in the blood (which can cause gout) or, in rare cases, tendon problems.

Taking naproxen can make amlodipine less effective at lowering your blood pressure. Additionally, using both together can increase the strain on your kidneys and may lead to fluid retention (swelling).
