Taking Prozac and Sedoxil together can make you feel much more drowsy, sleepy, or dizzy than usual. It can also affect your coordination, making you more likely to fall, and may slow down your breathing or cause confusion.

Why this happens
Both medicines work by slowing down activity in the central nervous system (the brain). Prozac can also slow down the way your liver processes Sedoxil, which means the Sedoxil stays in your body longer and its effects become stronger.
What you should do
Back to contentsUse this combination with caution. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how these medicines affect you. Avoid drinking alcohol, as this will make the sleepiness much worse. If you feel extremely sleepy or have trouble breathing, contact your doctor immediately.
